It's one thing to recast a VA because of a major incident or issue, for example, the recasting of every role Billy Kametz ever starred in (May he rest in peace); but it's completely different to just axe a VA that's still living over something petty like wage negotiation.
I mean Kyle McCarley has been voicing Mob for over 2 seasons. How the hell does Crunchyroll expect viewers to just lay down and accept a COMPLETELY change in the character when it costs them SO little to agree to sitting down with SAG-AFTRA something as simple as a talk!
It's like changing Yuri Lowenthall from voicing Sasuke for Pete's sake. Crunchyroll needs to untie their balls from that cocky precipice they've been standing on for so long. Did they forget they were nothing but a pirate website like this one at one point? Hmph, this is why I'll forever stay loyal to gogo and the others.
Rip John Damgio for Futurama reboot
Tbh I didn't even notice the voice change. Didn't matter. But your point is 100% valid, man.
As a reminder, Mobβs VA Kyle McCarley (among several others) were recast for this season. This is because even though McCarley is a member of the SAG-AFTRA voice actor union, he offered to work on Mob Psycho 100 III in a non-union contract if Crunchyroll would have a talk with SAG-AFTRA heads about negotiations of union contracts.
Crunchyroll decided that it would rather recast a voice actor entirely rather than even think about communicating with a union. The offer wasnβt even to get to an agreement with them - it was just to have a conversation about it.
Anyway, this is your daily reminder that Crunchyroll is a crock of shit. They pay their translators minimum wage for translating hundreds of lines per episode (even Funimation paid more), pushed all VAs to return to their Texas office for dubbing even when prior seasons were done fine with remote work, and in general have a stranglehold on the whole anime community. If youβre reading this, then youβre already pirating anime and are fighting half the battle - the other half is letting others know and making sure Crunchyroll loses money until they reconsider their position.
So happy same day dub release
Has this ever happened before?
So sad to not hear the OG Kageyama voice actor π Count your fucking days crunchy roll !
Where did he and so many others go?! πππ
wow dub came so early so excited
Surprised that they decide to release the dub same day as the subs. Are they gonna do it weekly or theyβre only releasing the dub just for today then postpone it for two or three weeks?
mob psycho 100: mob in love
Wait so Reigan can see spirits now?? I thought that was just temporary.. π
Nah it was established from season 1 that he could see spirits after getting mob's power
Oh so why didn't he noticed the cursed figurine earlier? Anyways all is good. I might rewatch s1 & s2 when I have the time.. π The animation is good but the drawings were just.. Ugh π
Bc he doesn't have powers he can't sense curses but he can see spirits and that's about all ππ
the OG is back YESIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Reagan is King
Yare Yare Daze
mob psycho is goat of dub and sub
Hopefully mob doesn't end up like orange hair dude
No offense
that is not the same Mod Voice...
Reigen gave the advice which I actually needed at this point of life same as mob
Bro it's been so long I watched anime and of all Mob and I'm lovin' it
Unlike saitama, mob suffered from over exposure. Almost every episode is about mob's Psychic powers and fight scenes which led to mob's character development being overshadowed.
Reigan sama was afraid to use even 1% of his power, such a godly nature π₯
Mob is back homies!!! And also the OP Reigen ππ€£
18β π€
π
22:37 He said the line!
How abt it?
This is how anime should be release, not after 5 or 10 episodes of sub before we get one episode of dub
